A Letter From Joe

As we move through the heart of the legislative session, I wanted to share a brief update—and, more importantly, a note of thanks.

Last week, the eminent domain bill advanced out of the Iowa House. While I strongly disagree with the premise of the legislation, it’s important to recognize meaningful progress. The vote margin was significantly closer than in previous years, reflecting months of hard work, education, and steady engagement from our team and supporters across the state.

Attention now turns to the Senate, where Senator Mike Klimesh has put forward two bills related to our project. We indeed appreciate the work the Senate is doing to move the great state of Iowa forward on linear infrastructure development and personal property rights and we are monitoring those developments closely and continuing to engage thoughtfully with lawmakers as the conversation evolves.

But the most powerful moment of the week didn’t happen in a committee room or on the House floor—it happened in the Capitol rotunda.

More than 100 advocates showed up in blue shirts to make their voices heard. Farmers, landowners, ethanol partners, labor leaders, and community members took time out of their lives to stand up for this project and for the future of Iowa agriculture and rural economies.

Seeing that many people come together in support reinforced what I’ve believed all along: the majority of Iowans understand this project, support it, and want to see it move forward. They recognize what’s at stake—for farmers, for ethanol, for jobs, and for communities that need access to new and emerging markets.

To our team: your work matters. The hours spent meeting with legislators, answering tough questions, preparing materials, and showing up—day after day—are making a real difference.

To our supporters: your presence last week sent a clear message. This project has momentum, it has broad support, and I believe we are on a solid path forward to access ultra-low carbon markets for Iowa corn production.

Thank you for your commitment and support!

Sincerely,

– Joe Griffin
